🍄 1. General Questions

➤ Can I grow mushrooms if I am a complete beginner?

Yes! Our kits are specially designed for beginners:
✔️ No experience necessary
✔️ No special equipment required
✔️ Fast and visible results

➤ Is this legal?

Yes, absolutely.
We only sell edible and gourmet mushrooms , 100% legal:
Oyster mushroom, Shiitake, Enoki, Shimeji, Lion's Mane…

➤ Does it smell bad?

A healthy kit smells like:

• 🍄 a sweet mushroom scent

• 🌲 a light forest scent

A bad smell (alcohol, vinegar, ammonia) = possible contamination → write to us or throw away the bag.

📦 2. Questions about fruiting kits

➤ How long before mushrooms start to grow?

On average 7 to 21 days after fruiting.

➤ How many harvests can a kit provide?

Generally 2 to 3 flushes , depending on the strain and conditions.

➤ Where should I place my kit?

In a place:

• bright (without direct sunlight)

• own

• 18–24 °C

• without strong drafts

➤ Should I spray the kit?

It depends on the model:

• Some kits require light spraying.

• Others don't need it.

🌾 3. Questions about the spawn (colonized grain)

➤ What is the spawn?

Grain already colonized by mycelium , used to seed a substrate.

➤ How many bags can I make from one spawn bag?

On average:
➡️ 1 bag of spawn = 3 to 10 bags of substrate , depending on the ratio used.

➤ How can I tell if my spawn is healthy?

It must be:

• white

• homogeneous

• light and pleasant fragrance

❌ Green/black stains, slime or bad smell → do not use.

💉 4. Questions about liquid culture (LC)

➤ What is a LC?

A liquid culture : living mycelium in a nutrient liquid that you inject into bags of sterile grain.

➤ How many bags can I inoculate with one LC syringe?

➡️ A 10 ml LC syringe can inoculate 2 to 6 bags of grain.

➤ How do I store my LC?

• At room temperature

• Away from the light

• Ideally in the refrigerator

➤ How to recognize a contaminated LC

Suspicious signs:
❌ cloudy liquid
❌ abnormal colors
❌ colored sediments
❌ bad smell

A healthy LC = clear liquid + white filaments.

🔥 5. Questions about sterility & quality

➤ Why is sterility essential?

Because bacteria and molds like the same food as mycelium 😅
Sterility = healthy culture.

➤ What should I do if I see a contamination?

• ❌ Do not open the bag in the house

• 🚮 Throw it away directly

• 📸 Write to us with a photo + batch number

➤ How does MycoZen guarantee quality?

We :

• Let's sterilize all our substrates

• we work in a clean environment

• we check each batch

• We automatically reject suspicious bags

🏠 6. Questions about home culture

➤ Is it dangerous for children or animals?

No, but:

• keep the bags out of reach

• prevent an animal from puncturing a bag during play

➤ Is this possible in an apartment?

Yes, absolutely!
That's all:

• of a small, clean space

• a little light

• a correct temperature

➤ Can mushrooms grow too fast?

Yes, especially oyster mushrooms.
Harvest before the caps become very flat (spore release).

🚚 7. Delivery & Storage

➤ How are the products shipped?

In a discreet, clean, and protected package.

➤ How long can I wait before using my products?

• LC: a few weeks in a cool place

• Spawn: Use quickly

• Kits: ideally within 3–7 days of receipt

➤ My package got cold/hot, what should I do?

Most of the time, it's not a big deal.
If you have any doubt → photo + batch number → we'll check together.

➤ I have a problem with my product, what should I do?

Contact us with:

• a photo

• the batch number

• the date of receipt

We'll help you quickly.

➤ Can I return a product?

For safety/sterility reasons → no .
But we do replace or assist in the event of a problematic product.
